Where to use m:os

Start with Claude Code for the documented installation and first DataRoom flow. Other Claude surfaces have different capabilities and permissions.

Claude Code

The primary documented path uses the terminal, the MindrianOS plugin and your local project. It supports the plugin’s commands, scripts and hooks.

Terminal
npx @mindrian_os/cli

Follow the installation guide, then verify the installation before starting /mos:ignite.

Claude Desktop

A chat window can be useful for exploring an idea and working with connected tools. Available plugin support, file access and execution depend on the Claude surface and configuration you are using.

The Desktop and Cowork instructions provide the existing setup prompt. If the host cannot perform an installation step, use the Claude Code path rather than assuming the plugin has been installed.

Cowork

Use a project folder that Cowork is allowed to access. Review its proposed operations and permissions before proceeding. Confirm the actual DataRoom location rather than assuming separate surfaces automatically share or synchronize it.

A connector is not the complete plugin

Connecting Theo supplies method guidance. It does not by itself install the local MindrianOS runtime, enable every command or create a DataRoom.

Theo across surfaces

Review Theo’s role and connection boundary before configuring an additional integration. A different connector may have a different data path from the plugin’s built-in method routing.

Choose your next step

Use the installation and verification guides to establish what works on your own machine. Website sign-in is separate from verification of the installed plugin.
