For institutions

Make the reasoning open to examination.

A research direction, a student venture or a new application deserves more than a convincing presentation. Show the question, its evidence and what remains unresolved.

A useful review begins here

What could change the decision?

An example review structure, not a completed institutional case.

Start with one consequential question.

These illustrative situations offer a starting point for evaluation. Each keeps the work tied to a question and an evidence-producing next step.

Research offices

Which uncertainty is holding the next study back?

Bring a finding, its competing explanations and the proposed next study into a DataRoom. Separate what the evidence supports from what the plan assumes.

Review the question being tested and why its answer would change the next decision.

Innovation courses

What problem is this proposed solution really addressing?

Begin with a student’s product idea. Work back to the intended user, the progress they need and the assumptions that deserve investigation.

Review how the problem statement changed as the student encountered evidence.

Technology transfer

Could this mechanism matter in a different setting?

Examine a disclosure alongside an application need. Make the possible connection explicit, including the constraints that could make it fail.

Review the proposed application and the next test it would need before commitment.

Give the work a structure people can question.

A DataRoom is the workspace for the hard problem. Begin with the hypothesis or problem statement, then distinguish the supporting evidence, subproblems and dependencies.

Theo contributes methodology guidance for examining the problem. Theo reads problem shapes, not content. Local product operations and external service access have distinct responsibilities.

Walk through itFrom hypothesis to a useful next test

A review can end with a better question.

Different disciplines can interpret the same evidence differently. Preserve those interpretations and identify what would distinguish them. Agreement is not a substitute for a test.

The decision remains with the people responsible.

Material choices stop at a gate: approve, reject with a reason, or defer.

Check the fit before widening the scope.

What should an initial evaluation establish?
Choose one problem and record the starting understanding. After working through it, examine which question, assumption or next test changed. Define success around that change before discussing broader use.
Where does the work live?
A room is a folder on your machine with its own memory. Review the privacy information and Theo documentation alongside your Claude provider settings and institutional policy. The Theo boundary does not describe every service involved.
Can we treat this as an institutional deployment offer?
A pilot inquiry opens a conversation about needs and fit. Deployment scope, access requirements and data-handling terms need to be agreed before an institutional rollout.
Can one person try it first?
Yes. Follow the installation guide, check the prerequisites and complete verification before starting a DataRoom.

Return the evidence to the question.

A confirmed result, a failed test or an unexpected constraint can change the whole picture. The aim is to make that change inspectable and use it to shape the next investigation.

A focused conversation

What would you want a pilot to establish?

Tell us about the question, the people involved and what useful progress would look like. A person reads every request.

Start with a brief description. Please leave confidential project material out of the inquiry.

We use this only to reply about a pilot. It does not sign you up for the letter.

Your next step

Try it on one problem first.

Get a feel for the method and the DataRoom before deciding what a wider evaluation should involve.
